The National Gallery has held over 3,000 concerts since the music program began in 1942 and are often broadcasted on National Public Radio. 

Take a Walk Along the George Washington Memorial Parkway 

This 25-mile-long parkway runs along the south bank of the Potomac River. Take a walk or set up a picnic and revel in the numerous overlooks with jaw-dropping fall scenery that includes incredible foliage and the beautiful D.C. skyline. Visitors are also welcome to bike or run along the 18-mile Mount Vernon Trail.

Enjoy Extraordinary Views from the Old Post Office’s Clock Tower

Though the Old Post Office is now the Trump International Hotel, visitors are still able to explore the building’s original clock tower, free of charge. Occupying an entire city block, this historical landmark was built from 1892 to 1899. Climb to the top and take in the picturesque views of D.C. during one of the most alluring seasons of the year. 

Explore Free Museums in D.C.

Known for its historical landmarks, Washington, D.C. is home to a number of museums, and most are admission-free. From the National Museum of American History to the U.S. Bureau of Engraving and Printing, there is something for everyone to explore and enjoy along the National Mall, free of charge.
